THE BIGGEST AND THE OLDEST MANUFACTURER OF REFRIGERATION AND AIR-CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT IN BULGARIA

MRAZ S.A. is the biggest Bulgarian producer of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment with over 40 years of experience in the field of refrigeration. The company's main manufacturing facility is situated in the capital city of Sofia. The production of hermetic refrigerant compressors for commercial application and domestic refrigeration appliances is integrated here within one factory with total production capacity 80 thousand compressors and condensing units as well as 100 thousand refrigerators per year.

BRANDS HISTORY

The enterprise was founded in 1948. For the bigger part of its history it was known as the "Anton Ivanov" Refrigeration Equipment Factory. Over the last four decades the factory's products have been marketed under a number of different brand names. "Anton Ivanov", "Klimat" and "MRAZ" are probably the best known. The last one "MRAZ" that means "frost" in Bulgarian was especially popular. It became the firm's name when the enterprise was reorganized into a joint stock company in 1991, after the transition to market economy. Five years later the enterprise was privatized. It is now owned by Vassilevi Bros S.A., one of the oldest private companies in Bulgaria (established in 1894).

ONE OF THE FEW PRODUCERS OF HERMETIC REFRIGERANT COMPRESSORS IN THE 1/3 - 2 HP RANGE

The technology of hermetic refrigerant compressors' production is one of the unique assets of MRAZ SA. It was first introduced under a license of Tokyo Sanyo Electric, Japan and subsequently developed on a number of stages, including introduction of the DM line of Sanyo Electric, for wider application range, better performance and compliance with environmental standards. Very few internationally famous producers offer simultaneously the range of refrigeration compressors and condensing units for commercial application that MRAZ S.A. manufactures. MRAZ offers its products for a big variety of refrigerants, including R404A LBP, LMBP, MHBP and R134a LMBP, HMBP ranges, and is one of the few manufacturers in the world that offer R22 LBP compressors. For many years the enterprise was the sole producer of refrigeration compressors for commercial equipment to the East of Vienna.

FOCUS ON ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY COOLING AND FOAMING AGENTS

MRAZ S.A. was among the first refrigeration appliances' manufacturers in Eastern Europe to introduce CFC Free technology in the domestic appliances' production. With the support of the World Bank in 1999 MRAZ S.A. was further re-equipped with new sophisticated cyclopentane foam-blowing machines as well as with new equipment for complete transition to sensitive R134a and R404A in commercial equipment production. All our products are certified by TUV Reihnland, Germany and have CE, PE and GS test marks. We are now in process of ISO 9001 certification in order to assure the superb quality of our products.
